My name is Odette Stringwell. I am a professionally qualified Counsellor working as an Associate within Rotherham Counselling Services. I hold a Diploma in Person Centred Counselling, building upon previously gained certificates of Counselling Skills and Counselling Theory. I have completed professional development enabling me to provide both face to face and on-line counselling to clients. I regularly attend additional and ongoing professional development training. Prior to working as, a counsellor I worked as a Human Resources Manager in both private and public sector organisations. Throughout my HR career I have worked with and managed a wide range of people supporting them through the ups and downs of working life. As a counsellor, my approach is person-centred and this means that the client is at the heart of everything I do. It is important to me that my client has control of their therapy in a way which meets their needs and this is something I discuss with clients as we begin our therapeutic work together. I believe that the client is the expert of themselves even though it may not feel that way when in the midst of whatever issue or difficulty they are facing. I work with them, supporting them to find their own way through their problems. I have worked with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationships and bereavement. I have also worked with many pregnancy related issues including termination, miscarriage and infertility. I am a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions and subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure.
